UnionTies Privacy Policy

Information we collect

We collect account details such as name, email address, date of birth, union local, trade, role, and verification status. Members may add profile details, posts, comments, messages, marketplace listings, event RSVPs, group activity, job interests, photos, verification evidence, reports, and support requests.

If you choose to create a dating profile, you may share gender, dating intent, relationship preferences, age range preferences, prompts, and photos. This is sensitive information you provide voluntarily to use an optional feature, and it is only shown to other members if you activate the dating profile.

How we use information

We use this information to run UnionTies, verify member access, show relevant union content, support messaging and marketplace workflows, moderate safety reports, improve reliability, and help admins manage local union activity.

Analytics and content scanning

We record analytics events — such as sign-ins, screen views, feed and marketplace engagement, job interest, and dating activity — to understand how UnionTies is used and to keep it reliable. When enabled, we also use automated scanning of text and photos in posts, messages, stories, and listings to detect content that violates our community rules before or shortly after it is published.

Sharing and visibility

Profile, group, feed, marketplace, and event information may be visible to other verified members according to the app's privacy and group settings. Admins may review verification evidence, reports, compliance requests, and audit history. We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party ads.

Photos, files, and device permissions

Camera and photo library access are used only when a member chooses to capture or attach media for union card verification, profile images, posts, messages, marketplace listings, or jobsite evidence. Members can deny these permissions and continue using other UnionTies features.

Age requirements

UnionTies is not directed at children. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and at least 18 years old to activate dating features. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Security and retention

We use authentication, role checks, private storage, audit logging, and access controls appropriate for a consumer social app. Account data may be retained while accounts remain active or as needed for moderation, safety, legal, audit, and operational reasons.

Your choices

Members can update profile privacy settings in the app and request account support or account deletion from the profile support area. To request a copy of your data, email us and we will send it to you — this is a manual process today, not an automated export. You can also email us directly with any privacy question.
